The Danville-Boyle County Parks and Recreation Department was established to provide recreational activities for the community, to supervise development of new park land, and to maintain existing park facilities.
The
offices of the Parks and Recreation Department are located in the William E.
"Bunny" Davis Recreation Complex. On May 15, 1997, the facilities were
named in honor of Mr. Davis (1917-2001), a long-standing supporter of
recreational programs in the Danville-Boyle County area. These facilities
have provided the public with step/aerobic and dance classes, racquetball
courts, lighted tennis courts, a 25-meter swimming pool, complete free weight
and cardiovascular equipment areas, in addition to new accessibility for
registration of Parks and Recreation programs.
